Stan Scott was named Executive Director of the Virginia National Defense Industrial Authority (VNDIA) in December of 2010.  Prior to joining VNDIA as Military Projects Manager in 2007, Stan worked as the Senior Consultant for Political and Grassroots Services at Executive Communications, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
Stan left ECI and moved to Virginia in 2005 to pursue a doctorate in international relations and public policy at The George Washington University, where he has completed his field exams and is currently writing his dissertation.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Louisville.  Stan has taught political science and public policy in the past and co-authored a chapter on the Kyoto Treaty for a foreign policy text book.
 
After serving twenty years in the United States Army, Stan retired in 2002 as a Sergeant First Class.  His military career included deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1995, and several years as a tank gunnery specialist and tank platoon sergeant.  He currently lives in Hanover County with his wife Maggie.
